Windows 10 Mobile for Xiaomi Mi 4 coming this month?
The experimental program may expand to more testers in late November
Microsoft announced in April an experimental program for select Xiaomi users in China who could test early Windows 10 Mobile builds on their Mi smartphones.
We know that Xiaomi and Microsoft have been working closely to optimize the software for the (former) Android smartphone, and today we can share with you the news that a broader rollout of Windows 10 Mobile Beta for Xiaomi is not far away, and quite possibly before November 28.
A Microsoft employee in China, responsible for the OS development, has posted on Weibo (Chinese Social network) a picture of a Xiaomi Mi 4 running Windows 10 Mobile and the text: “Thanksgiving holiday coming soon, Windows 10 for Xiaomi beta is not far away”.
Further details about the beta program is yet to be revealed, but we believe a broader group of testers will soon be able to replace Android with Windows on their Mi 4 smartphones.
Xiaomi Mi 4 is a phone originally released in August 2014. It has a 5-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 801 processor with 3 GB of RAM, 16 or 64 GB of storage, 13 Mp camera, and a 3080 mAh battery.
