Windows 10 Mobile Support Lifecycle revealed

Microsoft has just started to roll out Windows 10 Mobile Version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) to supported smartphones around the globe. The update comes with build 15254.1, and although it has only a few new features, it brings many improvements and fixes to Windows 10 Mobile.

We previously reported that the previous version of Windows 10 Mobile (Version 1703) will be supported by June 2019, according to Microsoft’s support page, but now we understand that Version 1709 will be supported by the end of 2019.

According to Microsoft MVP Nawzil Najeeb, Windows 10 Mobile version 1709 / build 15254 will be getting cumulative updates with fixes through December 10, 2019. This means the latest version will be supported for 2 years and 2 months from now, which is indeed excellent.

Windows 10 Mobile Support Lifecycle

Support for Windows 10 Mobile is almost the same as other editions of Windows 10, but the support duration is slightly longer. Each version of Windows 10 Mobile is supported for around 26 months (2 years and 2 months) from the date of release.

Windows 10 Mobile version 1511 build 10586 / Initial Release: January 9, 2018
Windows 10 Mobile version 1607 build 14393 / Anniversary Update: October 9, 2018
Windows 10 Mobile version 1703 build 15063 / Creators Update: June 11, 2019
