Windows 10 Mobile – Preview Build 10080 is now available
Universal Office, New Store, Xbox, Video & Music apps and more
The new pre-release build of Windows 10 Mobile is now available to download for all Windows Insiders who are on the Fast ring. With this build, Microsoft adds support for HTC One M8, Lumia Icon, Lumia 930, Lumia 640 and 640 XL.
Build 10080 can be installed by going to Setting -> Phone Update, and following the normal procedure with annoying spinning gears.
Important: It is not recommended to install so early builds on a primary phone.
Here are the most important new features you can expect with this version.
Universal Office Apps: You can go to the new Store to download Excel, Word, Power Point and OneNote apps, all completely re-built and optimized to work on touch devices. These apps are universal, so they can technically work on tablets and PCs as well.
Windows 10 Store: try a working version of the new Universal Store Beta for Windows 10. Besides design and navigation changes, Microsoft has added a fully functional Movies & TV section, while Music will be coming in the next builds. So, in Build 10080 there are two stores – the old one (known from Windows Phone) and the Universal (for Windows 10).
Xbox App: This is also a new app available from Store Beta. With Xbox you can connect to Xbox One and see achievements, friends, feed, send messages, share clips and other cool things.
Music Preview: A preview version of the Music app. You can browse collections and play songs, including music added to Windows Cloud – One Drive. Live Tiles and many other features and improvements will be coming in next versions of the app – downloadable from the Windows 10 Store.
Video Preview: You can play MKV files, filter and sort videos, play TV shows purchased from Xbox Video, and more.
Camera App comes with more improvements over the previous version. It will become the default camera app in Windows 10, replacing Microsoft Camera in Windows Phone. Some features of the new camera app don’t work on the high-end Lumia devices (1020, 930, 1520, 830, 640 and 640 XL), but an update will fix that in the coming weeks.
Start Screen: Reduced space between Tiles, additional options for background – transparency slider
New Accent Colors: you can now choose between 48 standard colors
Mouse support: You can use a Bluetooth mouse with your phone. A cursor appears on the screen.
Settings: Pin settings to the Start screen; Find a setting; Scheduled restart; Mobile Hotspot for pairing with other devices;

Of course, this build has many bugs and Microsoft shares details about some of them:
- Some apps can have duplicate tiles
- Some apps may be unresponsive after the upgrade. Restart the phone
- Apps and data on the SD card will not migrate and you cannot use those apps unless uninstalling and reinstalling them.
- MMS messages may not be working
- Cortana will crash after installing build 10080 if you’ve changed the default shipping language on the phone. The workaround is to switch to the original language before installing the update
- Possible playback movie errors
- Auto-update is not working for apps installed from Store Beta
