The official Windows 10 Mobile upgrade could start next week

Earlier this week, Microsoft rolled out build 10586.122 to all Windows Insiders on the Slow & Release preview rings, but the company is apparently testing a new cumulative update with further improvements and fixes.

Windows 10 Mobile Build 10586.164 could be released for Insiders in the next few days, according to WindowsManiak. Cumulative update 164 reportedly includes only refinements and bug fixes over the last public release, but it brings us a step closer to the official Windows 10 Mobile update for the phones that shipped with Windows Phone 8.1.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Italy informs that the Windows 10 Mobile update will start the week of March 7, but this is not the first time we’ve seen a possible target date for the update – previous reports claimed Microsoft would start updating the phones in mid or late February.

Microsoft also announced that some of the old phones will receive firmware updates before or along the Windows 10 Mobile update. We will inform you as soon as new information pops up, so stay tuned.
