Windows 10 July 2018 update available for smartphones and PCs
Windows 10 Mobile build 15254.490 available for everyone
As promised, Microsoft continues to deliver the monthly cumulative updates to Windows 10 devices, including phones, although they have been on life support for over a year now. However, there is a new build for mobile you can download. Windows 10 Mobile 15254.490 is live for everyone on the Fall Creators Update branch which is the last branch for legacy Windows phones like the Lumia 950.
Appearing as ‘2018-07 Update’, build 15254.490 comes with some minor fixes and improvements, which are common for both PC and mobile. There is an official change log for this release:
- Addresses an issue in which DNS requests disregard proxy configurations in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge.
- Addresses additional issues with updated time zone information.
- Evaluates the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows.
- Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Windows apps, Windows graphics, and Windows kernel
Additionally, phones on the Creators Update are receiving build 15063.1206. Lumia 640 and 640 XL should be supported until June 2019, while the Lumia 950 line and phones on Version 1709 should receive cumulative updates until December 2019.
