Windows 10 installs reach 75 million
App installs per Windows 10 device are six times more than Windows 8.1
Microsoft announced today that Windows 10 has been installed on more than 75 million devices (PC and tablets) for less than a month after the OS official launch.
The company is releasing Windows 10 as a free upgrade to all users with licensed copies of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, but the free upgrade offer is valid through July 29, 2016.
It seems that many users have decided to upgrade their machines in the first month after the release, which results in a strong growth rate and increased app downloads from the store.
According to Microsoft, users who are on Windows 10 download six times more apps than users who are on Windows 8.1. This is a good sign for all developers who are considering making universal Windows app working on PC, tablets and phones. Microsoft is still working on the mobile version of Windows 10 that is expected to land in October this year.
