Windows 10 for phones to be unveiled in January?
Microsoft may also discuss new hardware
A special press event in late January will give us the first glimpse of the consumer features of Windows 10 for all devices including smartphones. Sources familiar with the matter have revealed to The Verge that Microsoft is preparing a big event near the end of January 2015 where the company will detail its plans for Windows 10.
The upcoming presentation in January will be far more significant than the small San Francisco event in September where we first learned details about Windows 10 and the Technical Preview Release. According to the source, Microsoft will provide more information about the upcoming event in the next few weeks, but topics like new touch interface, Windows 10 for phones and tablets, XBox consoles and other Windows 10-related topics will be discussed there.
Microsoft is also expected to give details about what is happening in the hardware department and discuss new Lumia smartphones. Rumor has it that the company will release at least one high-end Microsoft Lumia smartphone in the first quarter of the year, and this phone will ship with Windows 10. Low-end and mid-range devices are also under development. Four unknown models have appeared in AdDuplex’s logs – with screens between 4 and 5.7 inches.
