The Beta version of the app gets a new feature
WhatsApp for Windows Phone version 2.16.234.0 includes a new option to send short video files. The option ‘Send as GIF’ allows you to select a video and cut it to up to 6 seconds. Then the app converts the short video into a Gif and removes the sound. You could send it to a contact by clicking on the gif button.
Send as GIF basically creates a looping GIF animation without sound for a quick sharing. The feature is currently available only in the beta version of WhatsApp, but it should come to the official version in the near future.
