WhatsApp Beta updated with group descriptions. Live Location and Stickers coming soon
New features available for WhatsApp for Windows Phones
Unlike some developers like Uber, WhatsApp refuses to abandon the remaining Windows phone users. In fact, the app development has never been so active. The company recently updated its Beta app (there are two apps in the Microsoft Store – Official & Beta), adding the ability to create descriptions for group chats. Version 2.18.28 of WhatsApp Beta is available for testing in the Store, while the main (official) app should be updated soon.
Along with descriptions for chats, the company is internally testing some other new features for Windows phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile. Live Location and Stickers may be coming soon to WhatsApp Beta, suggests a new report.
Live Location would allow you to share your real-time location with the participants of a chat, or a single contact. The feature is secure thanks to end-to-end encryption. While Live Location requires an app update, support for stickers may be coming remotely with a server-side update. Both Live Location and Stickers were introduced to iOS and Android in 2017.
