Wei Yan Sofia could be a dual-boot smartphone with Windows 10 and Android 5
Leaked photos might show the first real dual-boot phone
Photos leaking from China claims to show the first real dual-boot smartphone named ‘Wei Yan Sofia’. This phone has been said to come with two operating systems on board, Windows 10 and Android 5 Lollipop, giving users the ability to select which OS they want to load. If the information on Gizmo China is correct, ‘Sofia’ will be something really unique because a phone that dual boots Windows and Android (or any other OS) at the same time hasn’t been produced to date.
Rumors had dual-boot smartphones developed by Huawei and Karbonn after Intel announced support for dual-boot devices in 2014, but this didn’t happen. Another company (Alcatel) presented a line-up that loads three OS, but there is a catch – users need to select which version they want before completing the purchase.
Wei Yan Sofia looks an attractive phone, so we hope the leaks are authentic – a rectangular, thin body with metal, physical buttons, curved back (like HTC One M8), speaker grill on the back, large camera sensor, two OS, and attractive colors.
According to the source, this phone comes with a 5-inch FHD display, an Intel processor (SoFIA), 32 Gigs internal storage, 2 GB of RAM, and a pair of cameras – 13megapixel + 5megapixel.
As there is no official confirmation about the existence of such a project, you’d better take everything here with a note of skepticism.
