Lumia Icon receives Windows Phone 8.1.1 with Denim enhancements
Lumia Icon users rejoice! Verizon has finally rolled out the Denim Update over-the-air to all Lumia Icon devices. Nokia Lumia Icon was released with Black and then Verizon decided to skip the next firmware along with Windows Phone 8.1 (Cyan) which disappointed many users in the US. The phone, which is identical to Nokia Lumia 930, is only available through Verizon so not getting the latest Windows version was a bad sign for future buyers.
To install Denim and Windows Phone 8.1.1 on Nokia Lumia Icon go to Settings, Phone Update and and Check for updates. You may need to charge the battery and use Wi-Fi to download the package.
After successfully installing Denim, your Lumia Icon will get latest Windows Phone features like Hey Cortana, Live Folders and exclusive camera enhancements with Lumia Camera 5.
If anything goes bad with the update and your phone gets bricked you can use the Lumia Recovery Tool which has been updated with a build with Denim.
