Instagram for Windows 10 may be an iOS-port

While Instagram hasn’t updated its Windows Phone app for years, most of the users have just moved to a better alternative – the app 6tag that offers much more in terms of features and updates.

However, Microsoft announced in mid-2015 that a Universal Windows 10 app for Instagram will be coming sometime in the future, but we haven’t heard anything official about the app development.

According to an Italian website, Instagram for Windows 10 is close to completion. The app is said to be a port from iOS via the Project Islandwood tool that allows developers to adapt Objective-C code to work on Universal Windows Platform.

The app that leaked in the hands-on video below is reportedly in a closed beta and it could be released alongside the Windows 10 update in the coming weeks.
