Trekstor WinPhone 4.7 HD announced in Germany
Trekstor’s first Windows Phone goes on sale in March for 149€
German OEM Trekstor is launching its first Windows Phone device in March. Named WinPhone 4.7 HD, this model comes with almost the same specs and design as the popular in Europe Yezz Billy 4.7 – both have 4.7 inch screens with a 720p resolution (HD), Snapdragon 200 processors at 1.2 GHz, and 1 GB of RAM.
WinPhone 4.7 HD also has an 8MP camera with LED flash on the back, dual-SIM support, and non-conventional capacitive Windows buttons. The phone is made of plastic and is available in several colors. It is a very light (just 99.6gr) and thin (7.5mm) device.
Stock Windows Phone 8.1.1 is on-board without additional features from the manufacturer except HERE apps which are pre-installed. Trekstor will start selling the WinPhone 4.7 HD in March for 149 EUR.
Windows Phone is enjoying increased popularity in Western Europe with a market share of 6.9% for 2014. Yezz, Allview, Prestigio and others are now offering Windows Phones in Europe, but they are all in the low-end or affordable segment.
We haven’t seen a real Windows flagship yet and many customers are starting to lose patience. HTC One M9 for Windows or Microsoft Lumia 1040 should launch as soon as possible to fuel the Windows Phone’s growth in Europe and other parts of the world.
