Toshiba Encore Mini tablet for $119 through Microsoft Store US
Microsoft recently waived the license fees for Windows phones and tablets with screens below 10 inches, something that made possible launching more affordable mobile devices. Among the first Windows 8.1 tablets running a special Bing version of the OS is the 7-inch Toshiba Encore Mini introduced at IFA in Berlin at the beginning of September.
Today, the affordable Windows tablet by Toshiba is available for purchase for $119 through Microsoft Store in the US. For that price you will get a 7-inch screen with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, plus a quad-core Atom processor running at 1.33 GHz backed by 1 GB of RAM. Tablet’s other specs include 16 GB onboard storage, microSD slot supporting up to 128 GB, two cameras (2MP rear, VGA front), Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Despite the fact that the Encore Mini tablet comes with many compromises in hardware, for $119 you still got plenty, especially considering the full featured Windows OS with Bing search engine.
