Timeline, new gallery and more coming to Microsoft Photos
Photos app for Windows 10 will soon get many new features
Windows 10’s built-in Photo app has been constantly improved over the past year, but even more interesting new features will be coming soon to Windows Insider for testing, ahead of the global roll out later this year. An Italian blog focused on Windows is now sharing more details about ‘Microsoft Photos’ app for Windows 10. According to the report, Insider users will get the updated Photos app in the coming days. Here’s what’s new:
Timeline – the photo app will get the Timeline feature, allowing you to scroll through images & videos in a chronological order. Drag the bar down to see files from a specific month and year.
New gallery – after months of testing, the redesigned gallery looks ready for Insiders. Under the photo you will see thumbnails of the other pictures in the folder, while you can always switch to full screen by clicking on the button.
Audio section in ‘Create’ mode – The app has new options for Audio effects in the Video creation section. You can add music, import subtitles and adjust volume.
Paint 3D integration – the app is now integrated with Paint 3D. Under the Edit & Create menu, you will see new options: to add 3D effects, and to add animated text.
The new Photos app probably has some other new features and changes here and there, but we will learn more about them once Microsoft rolls out the update to Insider Fast Ring.
