Tap To Pay officially announced for Windows 10 Mobile in the US

Microsoft Wallet NFC Tap to Pay

NFC payments are now possible with select Windows 10 Phones

Microsoft is now allowing US users with Lumia 950, 950 XL and 650 enrolled in the Insider Fast Ring to update the Wallet app and use NFC Tap to pay at stores for convenient and secure translations.

Wallet 2.0 has been completely revamped and the new version supports NFC payments based on the popular HCE standard. The same standard is used by Apple Pay and Google Pay, which means that Microsoft Wallet should work at all locations where HCE is supported.

After downloading Wallet 2.0, the users can add their debit/credit cards, loyalty cards and make their shopping easier.

The NFC Tap to pay transactions debut in the US, currently only for select devices and users who are on the Fast Ring, but Microsoft is expected to make them available to all US customers with the Anniversary Update, and then in other key regions around the world.

Download the new Wallet app from the Store.
