Surface Pro 5 tipped to arrive in early 2017
The new Surface tablet may have an Ultra HD display
Microsoft is going to refresh its Surface Pro line in the first quarter of 2017, according to a report at DigiTimes. Citing a publication from China at Economic Daily, the report claims that Microsoft will launch the Surface Pro 5 tablet along with the Creators Update in Q1 2017.
Microsoft’s next Surface Pro model may have an ultra HD display and a new stylus with magnetic charging. Some other improvement in terms of hardware could also be expected in the Surface Pro line, including a new generation of processors. Pagatron, the company that manufactures the Surface Studio, will also be responsible for the making of the Surface Pro, according to DigiTimes.
Microsoft had a very successful year for its Surface division in 2016, with increasing sales of all products and the introduction of the all-in-one PC called ‘Studio’. However, the hardware refresh of the Surface Pro 4 didn’t happen in 2016, but the chances for an early 2017 launch are pretty high. Redmond is also believed to be working on a smartphone Surface for late 2017 and Redstone 3 software update.
