Surface Pro (2017) is official, with up to 13.5 hours of battery life
The new Surface tablet goes on sale on June 15
Microsoft officially announced the new Surface Pro (2017). The successor to the Surface Pro 4 was unveiled at a media event in China, where Microsoft also announced that the Surface Laptop and the Surface Studio would be available in 13 additional markets in June.
Surface Pro looks similar to the Surface Pro 4, but there are many improvements inside. The most interesting is the improved battery life, with claimed usage of 13.5 hours. Surface Pro has also received better processors – the 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake, improved hinge and lighter body. Other improvements are the fanless design even for the Core i5 version, and better graphics for the i7 model – Iris Plus 640.
The new Surface Pro goes on sale in 26 markets from June 15, but you can pre-ordered it right now from the Microsoft store. The starting price of the basic model is $799. The high-end version of the tablet offers 1TB of storage, i7 processor and 16GB of RAM.
Microsoft also announced a new Surface Pen with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and very low latency.
