Surface Diagnostic app launched in the Store, mainly for Windows 10 S devices
Surface Diagnostic Toolkit app may help you repair your device
Windows 10 S, the operating system installed on the newly released Surface Laptop and expected on many other upcoming devices, doesn’t allow you to install traditional *.exe programs, so Microsoft tries to fill the gap by offering alternative solutions from the Store. The company is now launching a Store app that lets you to uncover and resolve software and hardware issues with your Surface.
Surface Diagnostic Toolkit app is already live in the Windows Store, although it’s currently only available for the Surface Laptop and the Surface Pro. Other devices, like the Surface Pro 4 and Pro 3, may also be able to install the app from the Store in the future, or they can always download the non-Store version of the tool from here.
