Surface Book 2 is not easy to repair, says iFixit
The second Surface Book gets 1 point out of 10 for repairability
iFixit has done a teardown of the new Microsoft Surface Book 2, and according to the experts, the notebook is not easy to repair. It gets only 1 out of 10 for repairability, an improvement compared to the original Surface Book that got 0.
All in all, this product is not made to be repaired at home, and the Surface Book 2 could only be opened by a specialist. Even if successfully opened without any damages, the engineer could only replace the SSD, as the other components are strongly joined together with adhesive and their removal would mean a breakage.
Microsoft’s Surface Book offers a new generation of Intel Core i7 processors, up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB internal storage. It has a 15-inch screen with a 3240 x 2160 pixel resolution.
