Spotify for Windows Phone gets a big update
The update brings new navigation, UI changes and more
Spotify has rolled out a rather big update to its mobile app for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone 8.1. The biggest change in the latest version is the relocation of the main navigation menu – from the hamburger menu in the top left corner to the bottom as pivot sections (without swipe gestures) for browse, search, radio, my music.
The update for Spotify also improves the UI and brings new fonts, colors, and transition effects while you navigate between sections / screens. The updated Spotify displays that screen you last used if you resume the app, while the old version displayed the home screen. There are also many other improvements and fixes we’ve noticed – including improvements in the profile and settings pages, better search functionality, song and playlist improvements, and more.
However, resuming the Spotify app is still not as fast as in other apps, especially those built on the Universal Windows Platform. The good news is that Spotify keeps supporting the platform and improves the app for Windows Phones. Download Spotify from here.
