Spotify is now free on Windows Phones
Spotify finally brought the free ad-supported music streaming to Windows Phone. From today, any Windows Phone user will be able to browse playlists, artists, and albums and listen to millions of songs in shuffle mode on the go for free.
An updated Spotify application will be available today for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 devices allowing users to listen to all the music, playlists, and discover new music through Spotify’s huge catalogue.
Several improvements are coming with this new version too. The new Spotify provides better search results and easy browsing.
The premium version gives you a lot more than ad-free streaming – you don’t need to shuffle and you can play offline playlists with no connection needed. You can sync tracks and playlists between devices and have them available on mobile and computer.
The updated Spotify app is not live yet, but it should be available later today in the Windows Store. [update]: the app is now available
