Two social apps for Windows phones get updates – Skype Qik and Facebook Messenger. For Skype Qik this is the first update since the launch a month ago. Version 1.2.1.158 adds a feature called Qik Flik. It allows you capture and send very short videos, up to 5 seconds. Tap on the new smiley icon to record or access old Fliks.
Skype Qik is a new quick video messenger available on all major platforms allowing users to easily send short videos to their friends with a single tap. All messages have a short life – they disappear automatically after two weeks, but users have the ability to manually erase them from the conversations.
Facebook Messenger received a couple of improvements and new features:
- send messages to non-friends
- add anyone’s phone number and send a text message
- add drawings to photos
- tap People to sync
- speed improvements
Version 9.0 can be downloaded from here.
