Several Lumia apps will be discontinued
Microsoft to focus on Windows 10 Camera and Photo apps
Seven Lumia apps for Windows Phone 8.1 will be discontinued with the release of Windows 10 Mobile. Microsoft announced on its official Lumia blog that these apps will be shut down on November 1, 2015.
Lumia Refocus, Lumia Beamer, Lumia Storyteller, Photobeamer, Lumia Panorama and Video Uploader won’t be removed from our devices on that date, but they will not be available to download from the Windows Phone store. The company is also shutting down the online stories uploaded via the Storyteller app, so if you want to keep them you can visit the website and download them to your computer.
All these Lumia apps will continue to work even after you upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile, but you will lose them after hard resetting your device.
The company says it will focus on the core the Camera and Photo apps in Windows 10 Mobile, but does not promise that all discontinued features will be coming back to the OS. We hope that at least Refocus and Panorama will be integrated into Windows 10 Mobile’s core apps.
