Lumia 550 to include a 4.7-inch AMOLED screen and LTE support

Months ago, we reported about an unannounced device RM-1127/RM-1128 with a 4.7-inch screen, available in Single-SIM and dual-SIM versions. Today, we have more information on that Lumia phone.

According to some European distributors, Microsoft will soon release the 4.7-inch smartphone under the name Lumia 550. Credible sources like Windows Central also confirmed the existence of the phone, which is expected to be announced soon, maybe even on October 6, along with the high-end Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The possible specs of the Microsoft Lumia 550 are quite interesting, especially considering the rumored price of around EUR 120:

• Screen: 4.7 inches, 1280 x 720p, AMOLED
• Processor: Snapdragon 210, quad-core CPU, 1.1 GHz
• RAM: 1 GB
• Storage: 8 GB
• 4G/LTE
• Camera: 5MP, LED flash + 2MP
• SD slot, removable battery

Microsoft is also planning a successor to the Lumia 830, codenamed Saana. Microsoft Lumia 850 is likely to be the only smartphone in 2016 positioned in the mid-range segment. Compared to the Lumia 830, the 850 will offer a better processor (maybe a Snapdragon 6xx), a better camera (at least 13MP with OIS) and a Full HD display.
