Report: low-cost PureView Lumia coming soon
8.7MP PureView camera and 5-inch screen
We have already reported on Adduplex’s database revealing an unknown Lumia smartphone codenamed RM-1072 and the same model passing certification in Indonesia, which unfortunately didn’t reveal much in terms of possible specs – we only knew it would be a 5-inch HD model. Now, a report by NPU claims this smartphone could be an affordable device positioned below the Lumia 830 and above Lumia 730/735.
Interestingly, the report says the unannounced phone will have a camera module similar to that found in the old flagship Nokia Lumia 925… yes, we are talking about an 8.7-megapixel PureView sensor on the back.
Other rumored specs of the RM-1072 model include a 5-inch screen with a 720p resolution, Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 Gig of RAM, 8 Gigs of inbuilt storage, and a microSD slot. The front facing camera is said to be just 0.9MP.
Microsoft is also working on a successor to the Lumia 1320, and we expect the Microsoft Lumia 1330/1335 to pack a 5.7-inch display, 14MP rear PureView camera, 5MP Wide-angle front camera, Snapdragon 400, and 1 GB of RAM.
We expect the RM-1072 and Lumia 1330/1335 to be announced in the coming weeks and go on sale before April. Microsoft already confirmed that new flagship Lumia smartphones will hit the market this summer along with the official release of Windows 10 for mobile devices.
