Redstone 2 update for Windows 10 scheduled for March 2017
References to Windows Version 1703 spotted in internal builds
Microsoft is targeting March 2017 for the release of the Redstone 2 update for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. Redmond is currently adding new features to the Insider Preview builds which already include references to Windows Version 1703 (Year 17, Month 03).
Microsoft is expected to roll out two major updates to Windows 10 in 2017. The first update RS2 should be ready to launch around March, while Redstone 3 should be coming in the summer or fall. With these two updates in 2017, Microsoft aims to blur the line between the form factors, by significantly improving the Continuum capabilities of the phones and the synchronization between PC, phones and tablets.
Many of the new features planned for Redstone 2 will be rolled out to public testers in the coming months via the Windows Insider Program.
