Redstone 2 Build 14926 for PC and Mobile released for Insider Fast
New features, improvements and some major issues in build 14926
Microsoft released a new Insider Preview build that reached the Fast Ring. Windows 10 Build 14926 brings a few new features and many improvements to phones and PCs, but there are also some major issues for mobile that could make your phone unusable after installing 14926.
This build includes a new option called ‘Snooze’ in Microsoft Edge. It’s a shortcut to set a Cortana reminder for the website you are viewing. Microsoft also updated the WiFi Settings page to match how it works on PC.
Unfortunately, this Insider build has two major issues:
-
Some devices may fail to upgrade and the users may not be able to enter the PIN to unlock the phone after it reboots. The solution is to manually do a hard reset.
-
Some phones may lose the ability to use the SIM card. A hard reset will fix this issue.
With the Redstone 2 update, currently planned for Spring 2017, Microsoft is expected to introduce many new features for Windows 10 Mobile. However, at this early stage the Insider Fast builds are not worth installing as they still include a very few changes, but many potential problems for your smartphone.
