‘Pick Up Where I left off’, Improvements to Action Center, and more expected with the Redstone Update
Windows 10 Redstone Update to bring many new features
Microsoft is planning interesting new features in Windows 10 Redstone, according to new reports. The upcoming Redstone update will bring a greater integration between PCs and phones, improvements to Continuum, Live Tiles, Action Center and Cortana.
Microsoft is reportedly working on a feature called ‘Pick Up where I left off’ which will be similar to Apple’s Handoff.
The feature would allow users to sync apps and information between their Windows 10 devices. Thanks to ‘Pick up where I left off’ feature all Windows 10 users could open an app on their phone and then continue using it on the PC, or vice-versa. This would help in many situations – for example, when working with Office documents. Soon, you could even send texts from a PC using the Messaging app.
Windows 10 Redstone Update may also introduce interactive Action Center, improvements to Cortana and Live Tiles. Sources close to the matter reveal that the Action Center will have a new UI, while Cortana will talk to the Center, and vice-versa.
The user will be able to filter and group notifications which will have a new Card UI. 1st and 3rd party apps will be able to offer information and the ability to perform tasks from the Action Center.
The company is expected to demonstrate some of the improvements in Windows 10 this week during the BUILD conference in San Francisco. Stay tuned!
