OneDrive roadmap confirms new features coming in 2017
Differential sync and auto-tagging planned for OneDrive
Microsoft is planning many new features for OneDrive in the first half of 2017. According to a leaked roadmap for OneDrive, the company will introduce features like differential sync and auto-tagging for photos.
Differential sync would eliminate the need to upload the files in their entirety when you make changes to them. Instead, OneDrive will only re-upload and sync the parts of the files that include those changes, thus the app will use less bandwidth for syncing purposes.
Along with differential sync, OneDrive will automatically tag photos, support smart photos and optical character recognition.
Microsoft is planning to introduce the new features in Q2 2017.
