Office Lens for Windows 10 released for phones, PCs and HoloLens
The UWP app now available for Windows 10 devices
Microsoft has recently released the brand new Universal Office Lens app for Windows 10, and we can now confirm that the app works on phones and PC. Furthermore, support for HoloLens has also been added, according to the store listing, but for obvious reasons we couldn’t test the app on Microsoft Holographic.
With Office Lens for Windows 10 you can use your camera to capture a photo of a whiteboard /blackboard and then convert the image to PDF or MS Office files. The app is something like a portable scanner so you can save documents on the go, and upload them to your personal OneDrive cloud storage. The app even includes support for OCR. It automatically recognizes handwritten and printed text, so you could search for words and edit the text afterwards.
