Office Lens now converts photos directly into PDFs with selectable text
Office Lens app improves functionality
Microsoft’s tool for scanning documents, whiteboards and photos using the smartphone camera, has received an important update adding the ability to save scanned documents directly in PDF files.
In addition to Word, OneNote and Powerpoint files, Office Lens now saves scans directly in PDFs using the special optical character recognition software (OCR) so the text is selectable, and these PDFs can be uploaded to the Cloud.
The important part here is that the text is recognized and you can extract it from the documents. Office Lens is a must-have app for all who work with documents, and can fully replace the standalone scanner in the office. Office Lens is free, so grab it from the Store.
