Microsoft yesterday released its new Live Lock Screen app, now available as a Public BETA for devices running Windows Phone 8.1. The app makes your Lock Screen a bit more animated thanks to 6 predefined layouts with unique animations showing time, date and notifications.

You can add your own picture to the Lock Screen, or you can choose some of the pre-defined images coming with the app. The app allows you to add more than one photo so you will have a fresh Lock screen through the day. Another option is to set the source of your Lock Screen images to BING, so your Lock Screen will change in accordance with Bing’s choice of the day.

The application requires 1 GB of RAM to work flawlessly though it could be installed on devices with less RAM. Keep in mind that the Live Lock Screen app is in BETA version so there could be some stability issues.
