Nokia with a 10% share in the UK, Nokia Lumia 520 – the most popular Windows Phone
According to Kantar WorldPanel, Nokia has captured a market share of more than 10% in the UK for the first time since April 2011. Back then, Nokia had an 11.7% market share with Symbian. Now, with its hot selling smartphone Nokia Lumia 520, the Finnish company has managed to increase its share in one of the major markets in the world.
The Nokia Lumia 520 is currently the most popular Windows Phone, according to a new tweet by AdDuplex. Nokia Lumia 520 accounts for more than 12% of the global Windows Phone sales, compared with 8.4% share in June 2013. That means the low-end Lumia 520 has overtaken the previous market leader – the high-end Nokia Lumia 920. In June, Nokia Lumia 920 was leading the Windows Phone market with a 12% share, followed by Nokia Lumia 710 with 11.6%.
Currently, Nokia enjoys huge success in the low-cost market. This month, Nokia Lumia 520 has gained a 12.4% of the Windows Phone sales in the UK. Last month, the device had a 20.8% share in India and a 15.2% share in France. The growth of the Nokia Lumia 520 is really quick. Three months ago, the handset had just a 4.4% global share. The higher sales of the Lumia 520 could result in more than 10 million Windows Phone handsets per quarter.
