The Lumia Black update has just begun rolling out to Windows Phone 8 devices around the globe. It brings several new features and improvements such as Glance Screen 2.0, Bluetooth Low Energy support, App Folder and other exclusive Nokia apps and features.

With the new update, Nokia makes many features previously available only for the high-end Lumias, available for all smartphones including Lumia 52x devices. First of all, Lumia Black includes an improved Nokia Camera app and Nokia Refocus – an app that allows you to change the focus after the picture is taken.

With the Lumia Black update, all Nokia Windows Phone 8 users will get many new applications such as Nokia Storyteller, Nokia Beamer and App Folder. Nokia Storyteller debuted with the Lumia 1520 in late 2013. The application arranges all your photos chronologically and integrates them with the map. Nokia Beamer lets you share any kind of documents, pictures or files using a HTML-5 enabled screen.

App Folder is already available as a single application in the store

App Folder gives you an option to personalize your home screen by grouping similar apps into one folder. App Folder is included in the Lumia Black update, but you can download it now from the Windows Phone Store.

While most of the new features will be available for all Lumia devices, some of them will be enabled only for the high-end Lumias – like the RAW camera support for Lumia 1020 or upwards, or Nokia Refocus and Storyteller for smartphones having at least 1 GB of RAM.

According to Nokia, your device should receive the update in the coming weeks. Lumia Black has already arrived at some Lumia 1020 and 925 smartphones around the globe. Since your Windows Phone checks for updates once a week, you’d better scan manually by heading to Settings -> Phone update and press on “check”. Make sure your battery is fully charged.
