Nokia Lumia 630 goes on sale today
Microsoft’s first Windows Phone 8.1 offered in a single-SIM or dual-SIM version goes on sale today, as Redmond announced officially its arrival in many markets. In India the single-SIM model costs 10500 Rs ($175, EUR 128), while the privilege to use two SIM slots will cost you 11500 Rs ($192, EUR 139). You can place your orders now, while the 630 will ship on May 16.
The phone offers a quad-core processor at 1.2 GHz backed by 512 MB of RAM, 5MP rear-facing camera, 8GB of storage, microSD slot and a 1830 mAh battery. Nokia Lumia 630 is one of the more affordable smartphones on the market with dual SIM slots and the latest Windows Phone incarnation, which is expected to attract many new customers from Asia-Pacific region as they just love to use two SIM cards on a single device.
Lumia 630 launch dates in some markets:
- Philippines: an official launch event on May 13
- Australia: May 27 (Harvey Norman, sim-free, $249AU), June 4 (Vodafone, pre-paid account, $179AU)
- Vietnam: no official date has been set, but it is teased as coming soon
- Italy: pre-orders available, shipping on May 20 from MediaWorld, EUR 150
- Poland: the dual-SIM version ships on May 15 for $249 or 178 EUR
- China: JD will offer the dual SIM phone from May 12, priced at 999Y or $160
- Spain: the 630 is ‘coming soon’ to Phonehouse and Orange
- Brazil: launch party on May 15
- Germany: O2 and many retailers will offer the phone after May 15
