Nokia Lumia 520 is the fifth most popular smatphone in Brazil

Brazil is one of the key markets for Windows Phone as the platform is constantly increasing its popularity there, driven by Nokia’s top selling device – Lumia 520. According to a new report about the market satiation in the country, Nokia Lumia 520 has climbed to the fifth place among the most popular smartphones in Brazil. Moto G and X are found to be first and second, respectively, with another Motorola device at the third position – Moto G Dual.

At the same time, AdDuplex released its new global report of the active Windows Phone devices. Nokia Lumia 520 represents 39% of all active Windows Phones. Lumia 620, another budget phone has overtaken Lumia 920, occupying the second place with a share of 6.7%, while the high-end 920 has 6.5%. The last wave of smartphones is struggling to gain ground with Lumia 1520 at the 20th place; Lumia 1320 23rd and Nokia Lumia Icon currently at the 38th place.

Only 46.8% of all active devices are running the latest GDR 3+ Lumia Black update, while the rest Windows Phone 8 devices are running Update 2 or 1.

Nokia is still the leading manufacturer with a 93.5% share; HTC is second with 4.3%, Samsung third with 1.3%, while Huawei has a share below 1%. The trend is expected to change as many new companies have expressed commitment to Microsoft’s platform and we will see new models in the coming months.
