Nokia announced a few months ago that its famous photo editing app Creative Studio would be updated to version 6.0 and the update would be part of the major Lumia Cyan software update for all Lumia smartphones. The company unleashed the Windows Phone 8.1 update yesterday, starting from Lumia 625 and Lumia 925. The good news is that you don’t need to wait for the new platform, and the revamped Creative Studio app can be downloaded right now, directly from the Store.

Version 6.0 comes with many improvements and new features. According to the official changelog, Nokia Creative Studio now supports high-res images which can be reframed directly from Lumia Camera. Auto-fix option, the ability to save a copy, more photo filters, improved user interface are also part of the changes.

Unfortunately, the color-pop and red-eye functionalities are not present in this version, but Microsoft promised both would return with version 7.0. In fact, these options are here, but you can’t use them…

All editing options are divided into four groups: blur, enhance, filters and reframe. With function ‘Save a copy’ you will never lose an original photo as you can play with settings and then save more than one version while keeping the original intact.
