Crazy Rumor: Nokia may release Windows 10 devices in the future

Finland-based company HMD Global, staying behind Nokia’s new adventure into the smartphone business via a licensing agreement, will be announcing the first models for the global market in February.

These new Nokia phones will be based on Android, which was expected by everyone given the unfortunate fate of Nokia’s latest adventure with Microsoft. But, Lumia and Nokia Windows Phones were quite popular in many markets just a few years ago, reaching shares of more than 10% in Europe.

We will consider this as a crazy rumor for now, but Nokia’s Official Account on Weibo has just hinted that future Windows 10 devices with the Nokia brand are not something we should fully ignore. Responding to a question, Nokia advised the user to follow the account for more news on Windows devices.

Nokia (via HMD Global) is expected to unveil a couple of smartphones at the MWC in Barcelona next month. Among the new devices will be an Android flagship with the Snapdragon 835 processor. This processor will be the first to support Windows 10 on ARM, which may open possibilities for creation of a phone, tablet, laptop, 2-in-1 or even a 3-in-1 device based on Windows 10.
