New Lumia firmware enables Static IP addresses for some models
Static IP addresses could be a handy new functionality for many power-users and enterprises, as this feature has been enabled for some Nokia phones through a new Lumia firmware version 1425.00003.
Lumia 525, 625, and 925 models in India on the network of Aircel are now receiving the new firmware which brings also some improvements and bug fixes in ‘Network+’. We expect other Lumia devices, especially in developing markets, to get the new functionality too over the year.
Static IP addresses would allow you to assign unique gateway and IP details when connecting to a network. According to WPCentral the new Lumia firmware is 18MB.
