Mixed Reality demoed on Windows 10 Mobile with View 3D
Update to View 3D may bring Mixed Reality to Windows phones
Microsoft is working on new features for its View 3D app and this applies not only for PCs and tablets, but also for smartphones. According to AggiornamentiLumia, Microsoft may soon update the View 3D app with an exciting new feature – the ability to take photos with 3D models.
The current internal version of the app looks far from finished on Windows 10 Mobile. It doesn’t have a landscape mode, but the results appear to be pretty good. The app will show a low-resolution live preview of the image you can save, while all 3d objects, models and animations can be rotated freely within the 3D camera. Once you tap on ‘Save’, the app will create a clear and high-resolution image of what you see on the screen.
Here is a demo of the Mixed reality in View 3D, with a robot added in the garden. The final result looks impressive.
However, there is no info on when or whether Microsoft will bring these features to the general public on Windows 10 Mobile. Microsoft may save these efforts for the highly-expected new mobile device codenamed Andromeda in 2018.
