Minimum System requirements for Facebook and Messenger apps are now 2 GB
Facebook may have changed the system requirements for its Windows 10 apps
The store pages for Facebook and Messenger, two Windows 10 apps created using OSMeta tools and existing iOS code, now inform that you need at least 2 GB of RAM to run these apps normally.
While Facebook seems to have formally increased the software requirements for its apps on Windows 10, they can still be installed and used on a phone with low amount of RAM – 512MB or 1 GB.
What is even more puzzling is the fact that both Facebook and Messenger app shows that they don’t meet the system requirements on my Microsoft Lumia 950 with 3 GB of RAM. It could be because of a mistake in the store page, or the fact that Facebook has unofficially ended the support for its apps on low-end phones.
We should note that the Facebook’s apps are quite slow at start even on a decent PC, so changing the minimum requirements does make sense.
