The official Windows 10 Update delayed until early 2016

In September, Microsoft promised that an official Windows 10 Mobile update for existing Lumia devices (non-Insiders) would be coming in December, but now the company is delaying the update until January 2016.

Microsoft says the update will reach the select models running Windows Phone 8.1 after the Holidays. The company is yet to publish an official list with the devices eligible for the upgrade, but the ambition is that most of the existing models to be upgraded to Windows 10.

Meanwhile, Microsoft released another cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview that appears as build 10586.36. This build further improves the performance of the platform and fixes some bugs found in earlier builds.
