The most affordable Lumia phones yet

Microsoft announced today two new budget devices running Windows Phone 8.1 (with Denim update), which are the most affordable Lumia smartphones to date. Microsoft Lumia 435 is the first model from the new 400-series with a very low price and a dual-core processor, while the Microsoft Lumia 532 comes with a similar design but slightly better hardware.

Both smartphones have 4-inch LCD displays with an 800 x 480 resolution (233ppi), 8 GB of internal storage, microSD slot for up to 128 GB, 1 GB of RAM, and 1560 mAh battery.

There are several differences between the Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 in terms of hardware. While Lumia 435 is loaded with a dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, the Lumia 532 is equipped with the quad-core chipset. Other major differences can be found in the camera department – Lumia 435 has a 2MP main camera, while the Lumia 532 features a 5-megapixel sensor (both phones have a basic VGA shooter up front).

In addition, the new Lumia 532 supports Glance Screen, a nice feature typical for more expensive models, for displaying important information and notifications at a glance.

The new Lumia smartphones will be available in February as single SIM (3G) and smart Dual-SIM (3G) variants in four colors (bright green, orange, white, black).

As far as pricing, Lumia 435 costs just 69 EUR, while the Microsoft Lumia 532 is just 79 EUR without a contract.

Microsoft is expected to announce more new Lumia models soon.
