Microsoft introduces Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book
The company surprised the audience with a 13.5-inch Surface laptop
Microsoft has today presented two new Surface devices – the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book. The successor to the Surface Pro 3 comes with many improvements and 30% increased performance compared with the old model.
Surface Pro 4 is thinner and has a larger screen (12.3-inch) that uses the PixelSense technology, but thanks to the thinner bezels the form factor is exactly the same like in the Surface Pro 3, which means you can use your old Surface keyboard with the Pro 4.
The new model also includes improved Intel processors, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. According to Microsoft, the new Surface Pro 4 is 50% faster than the MacBook Air.
The Surface Pen now has a tail eraser, 1024 levels of pressure, and a battery that lasts 1 year. The keyboard has been improved and now integrates a fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello, while the trackpad is larger. The device is available for per-orders from today with prices starting from $899.

The display is 13.5-inches and can be detached from the keyboard, so you can use it like a regular tablet. When used like a laptop, the Surface Book is 50% faster than the MacBook Pro, according to the manufacturer. The prices of the Microsoft Surface Book start from $1499.
