Microsoft improves the battery, rolls out first update to Windows Phone 8.1
Microsoft released an update to WP8.1 Preview for Developers. The 22 MB firmware update is bringing tons of bug fixes, improvements and longer battery life, according to Joe Belfiore. The update is based on the user’s feedback and it looks that Redmond has almost taken the new platform towards full readiness.
Introduced one month ago, WP8.1 for Developers has been warm-welcomed by the general public and it has been installed on more than 1 million devices. The first new models running WP8.1 are hitting the stores right now (Lumia 630, Lumia 930), while Microsoft is scheduled to release the final build of 8.1 in July. Those of you who joined the Developer program get an early access to updates which the regular consumers usually receive weeks or even months later.
To check for updates make sure you’ve enabled ‘Preview for developers’ from the app settings and then go to Phone Settings -> Check for Updates. Charge your battery before the update.
