Microsoft hints at Redstone 3 builds coming soon to Windows Insiders
The company advises Insiders to check their Settings
Microsoft is about to start rolling out builds from the Windows 10 Redstone 3 branch to Windows Insiders. The company revealed in a blog post that the first Redstone 3 builds won’t include many visible changes as they will be mainly focused on refinements to OneCore, which is a necessity before adding and testing new features.
That’s why Microsoft advises everyone in the program to check their Windows Insiders settings and switch to a more stable Ring if they can’t live with bugs and possible painful issues. You can change the insider ring by going to Update & Security → Windows Insider Program. Here are the four options:
-
You can completely leave the Insider program and stay on the official Creators Update ( Redstone 2 / 14393)
-
Switch to Release Preview to get early access to cumulative updates from the Redstone 2 branch
-
Switch to Slow Ring for relatively stable builds from the Redstone 3 development branch
-
Stay in the Fast Ring if you want to install all latest builds with new features and many possible bugs
