Microsoft Continuum Hub appears on UK online store
The Continuum Hub turns your Windows 10 phone into a desktop PC
One of the retailers in the UK has already listed the unannounced Continuum Hub for upcoming high-end Windows 10 phones supporting the feature that allows you to connect the phone to a monitor or a TV, attach a keyboard and a mouse, and unleash a PC-like experience.
The retailer describes in details the applications of the device that will be officially announced on October 6 along with two high-end Lumia models – Lumia 950 and 950 XL. According to the description, a Continuum comparable phone can be connected to an external display and peripherals, so you can use universal Windows apps as if they run on a computer.
All universal apps by Microsoft like Word, Excel, Edge, Mail, along with future apps by third-party developers automatically scale up to to the larger screen, while the user can still use the connected phone as a phone thanks to the dual-screen mode. The second screen has a Start Menu, just like a Desktop PC, while the phone screen remains independent so the phone can be used as normal.
The UK retailer Mobilefun has not listed the price of the Continuum accessory, but reports from early September indicate that the Hub may cost around $100 or it may be bundled with Lumia 950 / 950 XL in some markets.
