Lumia 950 is getting Double Tap to Wake ”soon”

Earlier this month, we reported that ‘Double tap to wake up’ could be added to some of the new models like the Lumia 950 if the many Insiders voted for that feature in the Feedback Hub. Now Microsoft has confirmed the feature is coming to Windows 10 Mobile phones.

A Microsoft Engineer has replied in the Feedback Hub where users want their Double-tap back:

We are working on adding the support for double tap to wake for devices that support this feature.

Microsoft has not revealed which phones will get Double tap to wake, but we do know that phones like Lumia 950 and 950 XL supports it.

We hope that Microsoft will roll out the feature to select phones with the Anniversary update in the summer, but Insiders with Lumia 950s may get Double-tap even sooner.

Double-tap to wake is currently available only for phones released with Windows Phone 8.1 and eventually upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile. Among the phones supporting double-tap are Nokia Lumia 1520, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930.
