Release Preview gives an early access to production builds

Mobile and PC users can now enroll for the Windows Insider program and select a new Ring named ‘Insider Release Preview‘.

The Release ring becomes the third option for the Insiders, in addition to the Slow and Fast Rings. This is the less-risky option to receive updates for the current branch (like the current cumulative updates for builds 10586 for PC and mobile).

The three Windows Insider rings are:

• Fast – for early access to new builds and features; possible bugs
• Slow – access to less risky builds
• Release Preview – to receive updates for the current branch; very minimal risk
